His Light Is Your Message to the World

The wind extinguishes a candle or it can ignite a fire. When the winds of life come your way, we pray you are energized by it, instead of it blowing out your candle. With a solid background in the major basic fields of study and a strong confidence in promises of God, just as Proverbs encourages us, we believe, as HCS graduates, you are prepared to face the journey ahead. We cannot smooth the road for you; there will be bumps in the road.

As you have grown and continue to mature in His wisdom and character, we pray that fire will ignite and continue to produce the character of Christ in you, even when there are bumps in the road.

                     - Analogy used by permission. Dr. Dave Bland, Harding University School of Theology in Memphis

Lord, the Light of Your Love is shining,
In the midst of the darkness shining,
Jesus, Light of the World, shine upon us,
Set us free by the truth You now bring us,
Shine on me. Shine on me.

Shine, Jesus shine,
Fill this land with the Father's glory.
Blaze, Spirit blaze,
Set our hearts on fire.
Flow, river flow,
Flood the nations with grace and mercy.
Send forth Your word,
Lord and let there be light.

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness
So our faces display Your likeness
Ever changing from glory to glory
Mirrored here may our lives tell Your story
Shine on me. Shine on me.

- Graham Kendrick

“You show that you are a letter from Christ,
the result of our ministry,
written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God,
not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”
- II Corinthians 3:2-6
