As students enter their junior high experience, impressionable minds search for role models. At Hyland junior high students bond with high school students in a healthy, viable, environment to produce the kind of atmosphere students from other school have verbally envied. If difficulties should arise, student leaders and staff work together to solve any issues. Students have learned living out Godly principles foster cooperation, respect, success, and a wholesome environment for learning.
The bond of friendship between junior high and high school continues to grow throughout the year. It is commonplace to daily hear students encourage and build up one another.
A junior high student’s response after his first day of school at Hyland, "Wow, I went a whole day and no one beat me up!"
This comment seems so foreign to Hyland staff and student body, realizing the battle some students face in junior high and high school has no place in our school environment.
"Fellowship and leadership opportunities allow for the development of character, and the special skills in how to deal with people from a Christian perspective..."
